Christopher Jacob Austin's Obituary
Christopher Jacob Austin, age 22, a resident of Eureka, Kansas died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on September 22, 1988 in Wichita, Kansas the son of Eldon Leroy Austin and Mary Leigh Doane.
Chris was a graduate of Eureka High School and attended one year at Kansas State University. In high school he was a member of Eureka High School FFA Chapter, the Eureka High Band playing saxophone and baritone and a member of the Harmony Sunflowers 4-H Club. Chris enjoyed hunting deer, trapping, Nascar and NHRA.
Chris is survived by his parents Eldon and Mary Austin both of Eureka, Kansas, two sisters: Leigha Kimberlin of Eureka, Kansas and Lacie Shirley of Wamego, Kansas, maternal grandparents Melvin and Joyce Doane of Severy, Kansas, paternal grandmother Betty Austin of Fredonia, Kansas, one nephew Kellen Kimberlin, and three nieces: Zoie Scott, IraLynn Kimberlin and AereAna Shirley. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Neil Austin.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Severy United Methodist Church in Severy, Kansas with Pastor Charles Cryderman. Family suggests memorial contributions to his nieces and nephew educational fund and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Countryside - Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.
