Clara C. Atkinson's Obituary
Clara C. Atkinson, age 100 of Fall River, KS, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Elm Haven in Parsons, KS. Clara was born September 25, 1915 in Fall River, KS the daughter of Floyd and Ethel (Woodburn) Marcy.
Clara graduated from Fall River High School and went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree from Emporia State Teachers College in 1969. On August 7, 1939 she married Leonard Earl Atkinson in Fall River, KS. Clara and Leonard were married for 25 years until his death of August 1964.
Clara worked as a teacher in the Fall River and Fredonia school systems and later worked for and retired from the State of Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services.

8 Great Grandchildren: Leila and Caleb Kral, Delaney and Landry Robson, Gavyn and Evan Stapleton, and Wyatt and Kasen Stapleton
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard Earl Atkinson, daughter Judith Lynn Atkinson, grandson Evan Moulds, brothers Kenneth Marcy, L.D. Marcy, Floyd Marcy, Verne Marcy, Frank Marcy, and sisters Oleta Berridge, Ethel Weathers, Lillian Lyon, and Ettie Paxton.
Graveside services will be held, Tuesday October 13, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Fredonia City Cemetery with Pastor Robin Haines officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 10:00 AM until noon at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia.
