Clara Marie (Born) Webb's Obituary
Clara Marie (Born) Roles Webb passed away Saturday May 2, 2015 at Diversacare of Chanute. Her death was unexpected. Clara was born July 21, 1926 to Phillip J and Mary H (Paulie) Born in St Paul, Kansas. She married Robert Roles May 20, 1946 in St Paul, She was a loving stepmother that raised four children. He preceded her in death in 1978. She married Valjean Webb on May 2, 1980. He preceded her in death in March 15, 2015. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Clara was one of 16 children.
She grew up in St Paul, KS and attended school there. She lived in Hutchinson for a year before returning to St Paul until moving to Lawrence and working at the powder plant there during WWII. She returned to Chanute in 1946 and began working at the Garment Factory. Robert and Clara owned and operated Country Ceramics. She worked in the kitchen at Fairfield and Chanute High School. She worked at Rolco Manufacturing. Later she and Val managed St Patrick’s Bargain Store. She enjoyed camping and fishing and spending time with family.
She is survived by her stepdaughter Rita(Webb) Strack, sisters: Mary Ann Duling, Betty Roberts and Regina Greenlee, one brother, Phillip Born, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, five stepchildren; Mary Alice Marrs, Dorothy Louise Packard, Beverly Seefeldt, Bobby Dean Roles and James Webb, five grandchildren; Keith Kinney, Michael Kinney, Ed Seefeldt, Linda Marrs, Robin (Roles) Ulrich, two great grandchildren, Denton Marrs and Maryia Baker, sisters: Margaret Kaffenberger, Barbara Skinner, Getrude Hoffman and the twin sisters, brothers: George, Lawrence, Albert, Eugene, Edward, and Francis Born.
Rosary will be recited Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 7:30 p.m., at St Patrick’s Catholic Church 424 S Central Chanute, KS. There will be a time of Fellowship starting at 6 p.m. in the Parish Center prior to rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St Patrick’s Catholic Church. Internment will take place at St Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Chanute, KS.
Family suggests memorials to the St. Patrick’s Catholic School and may be left with the funeral home.
