Clara Virginia Jones' Obituary
Clara Virginia Jones, age 94, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Lakepoint Augusta Nursing Center in Augusta, KS.
Clara was born on January 30, 1929, to Walter and Olive Jacob. On August 26, 1949, she married Vernon Dale Jones, her loving husband of 66 years. Many of those years were spent on the family farm just outside Howard, KS. They were blessed with 4 children, Leroy Jones, Timothy Jones and wife Cherri, Bruce Jones and wife Deniese, Linda Smith and husband David, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Clara worked as a secretary for USD 282 in Howard for many years and was a member of the Howard United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon on May 14, 2016, infant son Leroy, parents Walter and Olive, and sisters Grace and Billie. Clara was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and will be deeply missed by all.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, KS.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial donations can be made to the Howard Methodist Church, and can be mailed to or left with Countryside Funeral Home, PO Box 1233, Howard, KS 67349.
