Cleva J. Chambers' Obituary
Cleva J. Chambers, age 81, of Thayer, KS, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at NMRMC in Chanute, KS. Cleva was born on December 6, 1937 in Jetmore, KS, the daughter of Fred and Esther (Hubin) Rehmert.
Cleva was united in marriage to Leon Haviland on January 14, 1937, he passed away in 1973. On June 11, 1974, she married Ed Chambers and they later divorced. Cleva worked as a heavy equipment operator for Neosho County Road and Bridge Department. She also sold Avon while living in Hutchinson and Thayer.
Cleva enjoyed fishing, playing pool, sewing and making quilts. She also enjoyed watching the KC Royals and visiting and drinking coffee with friends and family. She was a member of the Friday Reading Club in Thayer and the Thayer Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon; siblings, Larry Rehmert and Linda Haviland.
A visitation will be on Monday, July 22, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. at Thayer Christian Church in Thayer, KS with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. at the church.. Interment will follow at Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, KS. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. The family suggests memorials to be made to Thayer Public Library and may be mailed to the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
