Crystal Michelle Schmidt's Obituary
Crystal Michelle Schmidt, age 32, and infant daughter Ayja Bre’Gayle Schmidt, of Fredonia, died Monday, January 21, 2013 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Crystal was born on November 10, 1980 in Hays, Kansas the daughter of Jeffrey K. and Ennetta Gayle (McCarter) Schmidt.
Crystal was a graduate of Liberal High School class of 1999. Crystal was a member of the show choir and dance troupe, and was currently enrolled in nursing school. Crystal was a member of the New Life Church of Liberal, Kansas. A devoted mother, Crystal took pride in raising her children. She enjoyed cooking, reading, doing crochet work, and hosting parties.

Son: Jaden Le Schmidt of Fredonia, KS
Daughter: Mercedez Jade Schmidt of Fredonia, KS
Parents: Jeffrey and Gayle Schmidt of Fredonia, KS
Brother: Erick Ryan Schmidt and wife Amanda of Prairie Village, KS

Robert M. Schmidt of Newton, KS
E. H. “Shorty” McCarter of Fredonia, KS
Crystal was preceded in death by her daughter Ayja, and grandmothers Geraldine Schmidt and Fayetta McCarter.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 2 P.M. at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia with burial to follow at Fredonia City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home. The family has suggested memorials to the Jaden and Mercedez Educational Fund and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
