Daniel Lee McMillan's Obituary
Daniel Lee McMillan, age 58, of Chanute, KS, passed away on August 31, 2016 at NMRMC in Chanute, KS. Dan was born on April 21, 1958 in Chanute the son of John Marshal and Claudena Arthula (Tate) McMillan.
Dan graduated from Chanute High School in 1976. He was married Donna (Blankenship) for 24 years and they later divorced. They had two children together. On January 24, 2003 he married Rhonda Griffith in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and she survives him at the home. Dan worked for the City of Chanute for 33 years and took great pride in serving this community. He loved to golf and enjoyed woodworking projects. He really enjoyed spoiling his grandkids and always made sure he had “smarties” in his pocket. Dan was a well-respected man and he will be greatly missed.
Dan is survived by his wife,Rhonda McMillan of Chanute, KS; children: Joshua McMillan and wife Jennifer of Chanute, KS, Justin McMillan and wife Megan of Chanute, KS, Ragyn Cummings and husband Jeff of Chanute, KS, Kalyn Beeman and husband Calen of Chanute, KS and Taryn Kustanborter of Chanute, KS; siblings, Tina Shoenhoffer and husband Glen of St. Paul, KS and
David McMillan and wife Annette of Chanute, KS; 15 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchildren and an uncle: Troy Steven of Washtucna, Washington.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been requested and a visitation will be held at Countryside Funeral Home, Gibson Chapel at 16 N. Forest in Chanute, KS on Tuesday September 6, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. A private graveside service will be held. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, KS. Memorials have been suggested to the Chanute Sensory Park, Chanute Dog Park or Castaways Animal Shelter and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
