David Michael Julich's Obituary
David Michael Julich, 77 of Humboldt, Kansas passed away at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
David Michael was welcomed into this world on December 29, 1948 in Iola, Kansas to Norbert and Edith (Wirths) Julich. David graduated from Humboldt High School in 1966. He then entered the United States Navy where he proudly served until is honorable discharge in 1973. While in the Navy, David served one tour in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart.
On May 10, 1984, David married Sheri DeVoe in Miami, Oklahoma. The two were married 35 years until her passing on April 10, 2019. Through the years David worked a variety of jobs, he was a police officer for the city of Humboldt and Parsons, and also worked for the Allen County Sherrif’s office as an officer. He also worked a few years at Chanute Manufacturing. Then David found is true calling, her worked as a truck driver for 30 plus years before retiring in 2011.
David was an avid Kansas City Royals fan, he loved to rebuild motors, do woodworking, go to the Humboldt Speedway and watch the sprint cars, and loved to watch his favorite wrestlers on TV. He also loved watching the Kansas City Chiefs and his beloved Green Bay Packers every Sunday. David also loved taking is beloved dog Boomer on walks to the river. Most of all, David loved his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
David is preceded in death by his wife Sheri, daughter, June Sexton, siblings, Robert Julich, Ken Julich and Baby Julich, and his parents.
His memory will carry on with his children, Misty (Davin) Kuhl, Michael Julich, and Denise Merchant, sister, Janis (Bob) Krone, brother, Dan Julich, sister-in-law, Becky Julich, 8 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Countryside Funeral Home on Thursday, August 6th with the family greeting friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Services then will follow on Friday, August 7th at Countryside Funeral Home at 10:00am. David will then be laid to rest at Fort Scott National Cemetery. Memorials can be made in David’s name to: The National Vietnam War Museum, a cause that was dear to David’s heart.
