David Eugene Kraft's Obituary
David Kraft 57, of Severy passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka. David was born on September 19, 1957 to Alford Eugene Kraft and Jovannah Sue (Morgan) Kraft in Ellsworth, Kansas.
David was united in marriage on October 23, 1976 to Kathy (Bunyard) Kraft in Severy, Kansas.
David was an auto mechanic. He worked for Severy Auto Salvage for 15 years then opened his own auto mechanic shop. David was a very good at taking old cars and machinery and making them new again. David enjoyed spending time with his family fishing and rock picking. He especially loved spending time with his grandkids.
David was a member of the MAMR and was a devoted sponsor of 4-H, volleyball teams and other school events. He also played a big part in getting mud runs started at the Annual Howard Mud Runs.
David is preceded in death by his father.
David is survived by his wife, Kathy of the home. His mother: Sue Reily, Sons: Rodger Kraft and his wife Kristina of Severy, KS and Steven Kraft of Howard, KS. Sisters: Debbie Sommers of Altoona, KS; Diane Kelley of Chanute, KS; Brother, Mike Kraft of Fredonia, KS. David is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Kayla, Katie and Kyzer Kraft, as well as, numerous aunts and uncles.
Cremation has taken place. The family is planning a memorial service on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Severy Baptist Church. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials have been suggested to the Severy Labor Day Celebration or the Severy Baptist Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
