David Lee Smith's Obituary
David Lee Smith, age 67, a resident of rural Elk Falls, Kansas passed away Friday, August 13, 2010 at his home. He was born on September 28, 1942 in Zanoni, Missouri the son of Sigel Austin and Carrie Jane (Newton) Smith.
On July 6, 1963 David was united in marriage to Wanda Lee Beougher in Wichita, Kansas. David retired from Cessna as a senior inspector. He attended the Christian Community Church in Longton, Kansas. David enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and working cattle on his farm.
David is survived by his wife Wanda of their home, one son Dewayne Smith and his wife Vikki of Derby, Kansas, one daughter Debra Atkinson and her husband Steve of Longton, Kansas, three brothers: Floyd Smith, Frank Smith and Mike Smith, seven sisters: Norine Loftis, Blanch Sukow, Bonnie Luna, Floy Tucker, Nancy Kelley, Rosell Howard and Berniece Zeigler, five grandchildren: Chloe Mill, Dandi Smith, Dalton Smith, Gradey Atkinson and Shelbie Atkinson and one great grandson Cooper Mill. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Joe Smith, Obie Smith and Vilas Smith.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Elk Valley High School Gymnasium in Longton, Kansas with Pastor David Sanchez officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 to 6 PM at Zimmerman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Elk Falls Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to Harry Hynes Hospice and may be left in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.
