Deborah Kay Millis' Obituary
Everyone has a story, this is mine. I was born in Providence Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas, to Robert and Barbara Sullivan. In this picture, I am 11 years old.
I’ll live another 61 years until my passing. After living in Kansas City, Kansas until I was 8 years old, we moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Our house was built in a new housing development. Being new, many families moved there to raise their families. The neighborhood was full of lots of kids with them turning into playmates and friends.
Mom and dad ended up with a family of 3 girls and 3 boys for a total of 6 kids. I grew up and graduated from Raytown High School. Soon after graduation I married my boyfriend, this was a short marriage as he was not interested in being a new father to a son and our marriage. We soon divorced, with my family being my anchor, to becoming a new mother and starting my life. After about a year a friend introduced me to a boy from Neodesha, KS. His name was Tim Millis; after dating for about 4 months, he asked me to marry him. This was a turning point in my life, and we had 52 years of a loving meaningful life.
We had two more children together and life was great
The last 5 years of my life I had many health issues and with much help from family, I managed. I shed many tears in gratitude, especially to my daughter and husband in all the help they gave. In passing I give my blessings to my husband, children, brothers and sister, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. I love you all.
The family has entrusted arrangements to Countryside Funeral Home. No services are scheduled at this time.
