Delmer Wayne "Pete" Cowen's Obituary
Delmer Wayne “Pete” Cowen, age 73 of Chanute, KS, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 in Chanute. He was born on June 24, 1945 in Chanute, KS, the son of Delmer Carl and Leona Emma (Reed) Cowen. Pete graduated from Chanute High School in 1963. On August 7, 1965; Pete married Sherry Irene Shields in Chanute, she preceded him in death.
Pete served in the Kansas Army National Guard from 1965-1971. He worked at Micro-Lite Inc. in Buffalo, KS for many years. Pete was an avid hunter and fisherman and never knew a stranger. He most of all enjoyed spreading the gospel news to everyone that he came in contact with. Pete was a member of the Healing Center Church of God in Chanute.

Jeremy Cowen and wife April of Chanute, KS

Sharon Tomlinson and husband Richard
Four Grandchildren
Eight Great Grandchildren
Pete was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sherry.
The family will be holding a memorial service at a later date with military honors. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. The family suggests memorials to be made to Healing Center Church of God and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
