Dennie Burdell Hultz's Obituary
Dennie Burdell Hultz, age 88, a resident of rural Longton, Kansas passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011 at his home. He was born on July 12, 1923 in Cherryvale, Kansas the son of Dennie Boone and Della (McGuire) Hultz.
During World War II, Dennie served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Community Christian Church in Independence, Kansas. He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion and I.M. and A.W.U. Union. Dennie worked at Acme Foundry as a molder. He also worked for Continental Can, Sherwood Construction, Haliburtan and County Maintenance.
He married Mary Nell Cameron and to this union was born two sons and three daughters. Mary preceded him in death in 1974. He later married Marylin Britain and she also preceded him in death. On March 7, 2003 Dennie was united in marriage to Bonnie L. Coats Darbro in Longton, Kansas and she survives at home.
He is also survived by two sons Jack Hultz of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Ronnie Hultz of San Antonio, Texas, three daughters; Carolyn Felton of Nowata, Oklahoma, Debbie Belt of Independence, Kansas and Cheri Shaw of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, two step sons Dana Darbro of Americus, Kansas and Justin Darbro of Coffeyville, Kansas, thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Dennie was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Glen and Ray, four sisters; Marie, Hilda, Myrtle and Leta.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Community Christian Church in Independence and may be left with the funeral home.
