I met Dennis Morgan when we were thirteen and in the 8th grade at Neodesha Junior High. We were Pals immediately because we were each from kind of a distressed family. Or so it seemed to me. His best friend was Eddie Han. Eddie and I were also friends. But it was Dennis and I who whipped the heck out of Coach Frank Wattlet in the locker room when the coach was going to run water on our bare bottoms and give us a SWAT with a big wooden paddle. I took the paddle away from Frank and gave it to Dennis and he broke it. Dennis told Frank that I would not stab him in the neck with the broken piece of wood if he would not report the incident and it didn't get reported. Years later in life Dennis and I worked together for Triad engineered AIDS, a company on West Main Street when he was dating his future wife. I lost track of him after he left Triad but I always loved the guy. Dennis's dad was one of the Contracting people who built the new gym at Neodesha High School somewhere around 1957. Bill Nolen.
