Dennis Alvin Overman's Obituary
Dennis Alvin Overman passed away on 10/21/2021 at Neosho Regional Memorial Medical Center, from complication of kidney disease and Covid 19. He and his wife Linda had recently moved to Chanute Kansas from Harrison Arkansas to be close to family. He was born on Sept 9 1941 in Nevada Mo to Bernard Paul Overman and Gladys Belle (Jadlot) Overman.
In his youth the family moved to Grandview Mo where Dennis graduated from Grandview Highschool. He always enjoyed working on farms and with farm animals and often found ways to integrate this with his full-time job. In retirement he enjoyed owning, riding and showing cutting horses. He leaves behind many friends in his cutting horse group (National Cutting Horse Association) and at Crossroads Community Church in Harrison where he and Linda attended church. He was an avid KC Chiefs and Arkansas Razorbacks fan. He loved family gatherings especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
In addition to his wife, he leaves behind 4 children, Jan (Mike) Long of Grandview Mo, Amy (Jimmy) Jesseph and Erin (Joey) Frey both of Chanute Ks and Paul (Robin) Overman of Raymore Mo. Also 3 stepchildren Marla Frazier of Branson Mo, Matt (Jessie) Parton of St. Joe, Arkansas and Tim (Nanette) Parton. He also leaves behind several grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 siblings, Richard and Beverly and daughter Peggy.
Visitation will be held at Crossroads Community Church in Harrison Arkansas on October 29th at 11am and services to follow at 12.
