Dennis Brack Treloggen's Obituary
Dennis Brack Treloggen passed away at his home October 11, 2023, following a short illness. He was born on October 2, 1949 to Wilda Fern and Henry Walter Treloggen. He graduated from Chanute High School in 1967. While attending Pittsburg State University, Brack joined ROTC.
Brack and Cathy Toon were married in 1971 and lived in Pittsburg, Kansas until completing his degree. They made their home in Chanute until leaving on December 26, 1971 for Great Lakes Naval Boot Camp.
Following boot camp, he attended “A” school and was stationed at Little Creek Amphibious Base part of Inshore Undersea Warfare Group II. During the Yom Kippur War of October 1973, his duty was to patrol the beaches of Virginia. He was a Vietnam War Era Veteran.
Brack was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Fern Treloggen, mother and father-in-laws Ode and Eula Toon, son Darin B. Treloggen, and step-sister Betty Jean Petersen.
He leaves behind wife Cathy Treloggen of the home, son Jared Treloggen, brother-in-law Doug Toon, sister-in-law Lana Mitchell; three grandchildren Dylan Treloggen, Wyatt Treloggen, and Lillian Treloggen.
Brack retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2018. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and restoring furniture. He was also an avid hunter.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute with military honors by the Chanute Honor Guard. Reverend Steve Pefley will be officiating. Memorials may be given in his honor to the Chanute Boerstler Post 170 American Legion Riders and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
