Donald E. Adkins' Obituary
Donald E. Adkins, age 76, of Fall River, Kansas passed away Sunday, July 22, 2007 due to an accident at the Fall River Lake. Donald was born on June 11, 1931 in Laurel Delaware, the son of Charlie H. and Ollo B (Carey) Adkins.
In 1948, Donald signed up and went into the Army. After serving for the United States Army, he continued his love of driving trucks over the road. Donald was currently a truck driver for Frank Bills Trucking out of Severy, KS and had been driving trucks for over 60 years. He also enjoyed riding horses and watching old westerns, and being with his family.
Donald was previously married to Barbara Frisbie of Fredonia, after their divorce he married Janet Kay Pettigrew, who died in March of 2001, One brother Elmer Adkins and one sister Isabelle Funkhouser also preceded him in death.

12 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, July 27, 2007 at Countryside Funeral Home 420 S. 20th St. in Fredonia. With Pastor Robin Haines of Flint Hills Assembly of God Church officiating. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM Thursday with family receiving friends from 5-7 PM. Burial will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday July 28 at Bristow City Cemetery, Bristow, OK. Family suggests contributions to Flint Hills Assembly of God Church of Howard and may be sent to Countryside Funeral Home P.O. Box 247, Fredonia, KS 66736.
