Donald Eugene Hancock's Obituary
Donald E. Hancock, age 80, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 in Chanute, KS. Donald was born on July 11, 1939 in Havana, KS , the son of John and Audrey (Wall) Hancock.
Donald attended Chanute Public Schools and Chanute High School. He joined the United States Navy in October of 1956 until 1960. On February 5, 1961 he married Stanie Jane Tubbs in Chanute, KS. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona and he worked construction until they returned to Chanute in 1964. Donald worked for Chanute Lumber for 10 years before becoming a policeman for the city in 1976. He retired in 1980 due to health issues. Donald loved his family and spending time with them. He aslo enjoyed fishing, reading and watching sports escpecially football. He was a member of the VFW in Chanute.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Jess Byers; siblings, Christine Territo and John Hancock and granddaughter, Jennifer Dawn Cummings.
