Donna Marlene Foster's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donna Marlene Foster, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on September 21, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on August 15, 1960, in Monterey, California, Donna graced us with her vibrant spirit and boundless love for her family throughout her life.
Donna was the cherished daughter of Edward Graap and Carol (Duncan) Graap, who preceded her in death, along with her beloved sister, Nancy Potter. She is survived by her devoted husband, Marvin Foster, whom she married in 2014 on the farm in Savonburg, Kansas. Together, they created a beautiful life filled with love and adventure. Also survived by sisters, Carol Stranghoner, Danielle Graap, and France Osteen, plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Donna was a proud mother to her four children: Billy Albin, Mary (Ed) Splechter, James (Caitlyn) Kuhn, and Kimberly (John) Harris. They were the light of her life, and she took immense joy in watching them grow and thrive. The biggest pride and joy of her life are 10 grandchildren, Kaleb, Lilly, and Joe Albin, Elizabeth Thompson, Alyson and Katie Splechter, Brecken and Harper Kuhn, Madison Swink, and Tyler Jones, who knew her affectionately as “Memaw.” Donna was always present at their activities, cheering them on and sharing in their accomplishments, embodying the true spirit of unconditional love.
A 1978 graduate of San Jose High School in California, where she was active in many clubs, including being a cheerleader and on the drill team. Later in life Donna attended Neosho County Community College and graduated in 2017 with an Associates in General Studies. She was a member of the NC Stars program. In the last several years she was an in-home health care worker, developing amazing friendships along the way. Donna's career path was not defined by a single profession but by her love of life and the people in it.
Donna was known for her vibrant personality and zest for life. She had a deep love for the ocean and longed for its sound over the years. She also had a passion for crafts, which allowed her to express her creativity and bring joy to others. Her adventurous spirit led her to ride on the back of Marvin's motorcycle, where she embraced the thrill of attending bike rallies, earning the affectionate nickname “Lady.” Donna also had a special connection with animals, particularly her dogs Jackson, gigi, and skippy, and found great joy in their companionship. Her dogs were present in almost everything she did, including Jazzy and Suzie, who greeted her on the other side. She found comfort and strength in butterflies, particularly Monarch butterflies, as they reminded her of her California home.
Traveling was another passion of hers; she recently took an unforgettable Alaskan cruise, creating memories that she treasured deeply. In a testament to her adventurous nature, she even went skydiving, embodying the fearless spirit that defined her life.
Donna's love for her family and her enthusiasm for life touched everyone around her. Her warm laughter and kind heart will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to know her.
A Celebration of Donna’s life will be held at Countryside Funeral Home on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 2:00 PM, allowing family and close friends to gather and honor the remarkable life of Donna Marlene Foster.
