Donna Lynn Mathew's Obituary
Donna Lynn Mathew, 69, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton, Texas. Donna was born on October 4, 1946 in Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of Kenneth and Donna (White) Jerome. Donna was raised by her Grandmother Bernadine Jerome.
On February 6, 1971, Donna married Philip Dean Mathew at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Chanute. Philip passed away January 31, 2014.
Donna graduated from Chanute High School in 1964 and then attended Neosho County Community College where she graduated with an Associate’s degree. She went on to work as a Municipal Court Administrator in Topeka, Kansas, a job from which she retired in 1996. Donna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who loved to spend time with her family. She liked to read, watch professional tennis, and was a lover of music and film.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Philip, her grandmother Bernadine, her step-brother James Muninger, and her step-mother Dorothy Jerome.
She is survived by her daughter Tina Tillemans of Bedford, Texas, her sons Philip Mathew II of Lawrence, Kansas and William Mathew of Denton, Texas; sisters Sherry Matlock and Michelle Jerome, brothers Clifford Jerome and Kenny Jerome, and step-sister Linda Gibson;
Granddaughters Audrey Tillemans, Alli Castillo, Ellen Tillemans and Ellie Mathew; and 3 Great-Grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 7:00 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Chanute. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Church. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery.
Family requests memorials to American Cancer Society and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home at 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS.
