Donna R Wolf's Obituary
Donna Ruth (Francis) Wolf, 82, resident of rural Fredonia, passed away March 8, 2012, at Fredonia Regional Hospital, after a long illness. She was born the oldest child of eight children on March 1, 1930 near Blue Rapids, KS to Ernest Francis and Lucile (Vail) Francis.
Her family moved to the Wichita area during World War II. The family then moved to Rose Hill, KS where she graduated from Rose Hill High School in 1948. After attending Wichita University and Friends University, she received her teaching certificate and began teaching seventh graders in the Andover School District. She met Ted Wolf while attending an Andover school function, and they were married in August, 1950. While married, she worked as a teller and bookkeeper at the Andover State Bank for several years.
In 1954, Ted and Donna moved to rural Fredonia, where she worked as office manager at Browns Chevrolet in Fredonia for twenty years.
Donna spent her free time collecting recipes, cooking, sewing, playing with her grandchildren, and drawing. She particularly enjoyed working with her flowers and Boston ivy plants.
Donna is survived by her husband, Ted Wolf, residing at their home in rural Fredonia; two children, Cindy Ann Huckins of Fredonia, KS, Allen (Farrellynn) Wolf of Wichita, KS; two grand-children, Andrea Lynn Wolf and Kristin Marie Wolf, both of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, John (Marsha) Francis of Rose Hill, KS, Bill (Marieta) Francis of Seal Beach, CA; three sisters, Kay (Bob) Veith of Harrisonburg, VA, Willi (Dennis) Jost of Golden, CO, Ellen Francis of Bethany, OK; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Francis, Huntington Beach, CA, and Tommie Francis, Wichita, KS.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Francis of Huntington Beach, CA, and Gary Francis of Wichita, KS.
Donna was a member of the Altoona United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. Visitation will begin at Noon. A meal will be served following the service. Graveside services will be held at the Andover Cemetery in Andover, KS on Thursday, March 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. The family suggest memorials to the Altoona United Methodist Church and may be left with the funeral home.
