Doris M. Ecton's Obituary
Doris M. Ecton, age 86, of Fall River, KS passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, KS. Doris was born August 15, 1929 in rural Severy, the daughter of William Franklin and Julia Faye (Bush) Cornett.
On February 6, 1949 Doris was united in marriage to Billy D. Ecton, Sr. at the Presbyterian Church Parsonage in Fredonia, KS. Doris was a teacher, a bookkeeper at the Fall River State Bank, the owner and operator of the Fall River Café, but first and foremost she was a wife, mother, and homemaker.
Doris is survived by her son, Billy Ecton, Jr. and wife Susie Buffalow of Fall River, KS, daughters Carolyn Shinkle and husband Carl of Smithville, AR, Dianna Teffeteller and husband Bill of Claremore, OK, brothers, Charles Cornett, and Calvin Cornett both of Klamath Falls, OR, 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy Ecton, Sr, daughter, Patsy Neblock, brothers, Clarence and Warren Cornett, sisters, Thelma Hanes and Dorothy Morton.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at the Fall River Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 5-7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, KS. The family suggests memorials to the Eureka Nursing Center or the Fall River Methodist Church and may be mailed to the funeral home at P.O. Box 247, Fredonia, KS, 66736.
