Doris L. Taylor's Obituary
Doris Lee Adkins Niblack Tayor, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, KS. Doris was born at home in Moline Kansas on October 16, 1936, to Walter Lee Adkins and Leta Fern Miller Adkins. She started school in Bowlegs Oklahoma. She went to 1st grade in Bolwlegs. Doris went to second grade and half of her 3rd grade year in Okeemah Oklahoma. Finishing her 3rd grade year and 4th grade in Shidler Oklahoma. That is when they moved to Wewoka Oklahoma. She attended school in Wewoka for 5th grade and stayed there through graduation from high school.
Upon graduating she married Marion Clyde Niblack in May of 1954. They moved to Amarillo Texas and then to Oklahoma City for job opportunities. While living in Oklahoma City they had 2 children. They Lived together in Oklahoma City until 1960. Job opportunities took her and her family to LaHabra California. Life’s circumstances brought her to Guymon Oklahoma in 1972. Then in 1985 she moved to the place of her birth, Moline Kansas. She went back to school in 1986 and received education in Adult Care Home Aide and started working at the Elk Manor Nursing Home. In July of 1990 she received her medication aide certification. She married Bud Taylor at her parent’s home in September of 1990. Doris retired from the nursing home after 25 years of service in October of 2001. Her hobbies were bowling, in which she received many awards, playing cards such as Hand, Foot and Hiney, crazy rummy, and reading. She had a love of cross stitching and made many pictures for her family and friends as gifts not giving up this hobby until her hands could no longer do it. After retirement she also enjoyed going to the casino and Senior Dances with her best friend Martha Cooley. Martha and Doris enjoyed trips to Branson together to enjoy the shows. Doris also enjoyed her church, attending Moline First Baptist Church and loved her church family.
She is survived by daughter Robin Niblack Brisbois and husband Mark of Durant Oklahoma, granddaughter Shona Lewis and husband Trek of Midland Texas, grandson Gary Adams and wife Erin of Littleton Colorado, April McLean of Howard, Aaron Niblack of Hutchinson Kansas, 7 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren, 1 brother Duane Adkins and wife Linda of Wylie Texas, 2 cousins Gary Foust and wife Sandy of Winfield Kansas, and Andi Hebb and husband John of Moline, and many many nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Fern Adkins, son Randy Duane Niblack, son-in-law Scott McLean and great-grandson Turner Samuel McLean, her best friend Martha Cooley, and husband William (Bud) Taylor.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Moline Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Moline City Cemetery. Memorials in her memory have been suggested to the Moline Baptist Church and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
