Dorothy M. Carter, age 89, of Thayer, KS passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at NMRMC in Chanute.
Dorothy was born in Earlton, KS on August 17, 1927, the daughter of Elmer Ray and Carrie (Umbarger) Briley.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Eugene Carter on June 2, 1946 in Thayer, KS. They were married for sixty-three years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; brothers, Richard Briley and George Briley; and sisters, Viola Briley, Wanda Bean and Lovetta Elrod.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Gibson Chapel on 16 N. Forest in Chanute. Graveside service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the New Mt. Hope Cemetery in Galesburg, KS. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
