Dorothy Jean Lohr's Obituary
Dorothy Jean Lohr, age 94 of Fredonia, died Thursday June 19, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. Dorothy was born on April 25, 1920 in rural Fredonia the daughter of Stephen E. and Winnetta (Cox) Knoles.
On December 10, 1938 Dorothy married David N. Lohr. Dorothy and David were married for 42 years until his death of August 10, 1980. Dorothy worked at home, she also worked as a CNA, for approximately 10 years, and did volunteer work for several years.
Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Neodesha. Dorothy was a 63 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Eva Chapter 18. She was a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Fredonia Senior Center and the Red Hat Society. Dorothy delivered for Meals on Wheels for many years. She loved to go dancing, work on stained glass, gardening, and loved to cook and share her meals with anyone that was hungry.

8 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband David and 11 brothers and sisters; Erie Lohr, Wilma Hoff, Audrey Fish, Mary Larkin, Gerald Knoles, Glenn Knoles, Paul Knoles, Joyce Turner, Sarah Flower, and Bobby Knowles, and 3 grandchildren Ivy Alvarez and Stephen and Stephanie Lohr.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Countryside Funeral Home, burial to follow at the Neodesha City Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to service time on Wednesday.
