Dorothy Evelyn Scott's Obituary
Dorothy Evelyn Scott, age 88, a resident of Howard, Kansas passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, Kansas. She was born on July 14, 1925 in Corn, Oklahoma the daughter of Christopher Cornelius and Katie (Zielke) Nickel.
On December 4, 1946 Dorothy was united in marriage to Ajunior Larson “Bud” Scott in Englewood, Colorado. She worked as cook in restaurants and as a dietitian for William Newton Hospital in Winfield. Dorothy was a member of the Red Hats and she enjoyed going to the Howard Senior Center, square dancing and the casinos.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Pat Harrod and her husband Hal of Howard, Kansas, four grandchildren, Tracy Harrod of Howard, Kansas; Bryan Harrod of Augusta, Kansas; Kelly McClure and her husband Nick of Augusta, Kansas and Kerry Harrod of Howard, Kansas, eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bud, five brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Countryside Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Hunter officiating. Interment will be at Grace Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Friendship Meals and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.
