Douglas H Holliday's Obituary
Doug Holliday, 79 of El Dorado, formerly of Severy, Kansas died March 12, 2015 at Lakepoint Nursing Center in El Dorado. Doug was born November 18, 1935 and spent his childhood near Severy, KS. His parents were David Hallie and Velma (Coble) Holliday.
Doug graduated from Severy High School Class of 1953.
On January 3, 1970 Doug was united in marriage to Magdalina (Faudel) Marrs. She passed away on October 19, 1989.
Doug worked for Anderson Construction on the Lake Project, Knebler Construction on the Summit House, Sherwood’s Construction and other odd jobs. Doug moved back to Severy in 1981 to assist his family on the family farm. In 1999, Doug and his mother (Velma) sold the family farm and moved to El Dorado.
Doug experienced many years of ill health and anyone who knew him knows the life of suffering he endured. He is now at peace with the Lord.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Survivors include: 7 step children, a cousin, Tim Moore of Severy and an aunt, Helen Craven of Denver, CO.
Graveside Service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at South Lawn Cemetery in Severy with Pastor Tony Pameticky officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Severy Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society and may be left with or mailed to Countryside Funeral Home in Howard.
