I’m sorry to learn that Doug has passed. I just tried to friend him on Facebook and learned that. I knew Doug from the Kansas Law Enforcement Academy that we both attended back in 1981 or 1982 (I’ve forgotten.) Rest be in Peace classmate!!!
I was lucky enough to have Doug as a mentor, friend, and brother. We had many adventures together, hunting, fishing, and our many Colorado trips. Doug had a very sharp sence of humor, some of the jokes he pulled on me and his fellow officers were the suff of legends. I miss him already, and will miss him even more in the coming years. Someone asked me once what Doug was like, I told them to look in the dictionary under the word integrity, and you will find a picture of Doug McKenna looking back at you. Doug was the only man I ever knew that I would follow to the banks of hell, just because he said we needed to. Rest easy Douglas, I have the watch now
Doug McKenna was always a thoughtful man serving his country ans the law enforcement community for many years. He will be missed by many.
