Connie Garman
I have so many wonderful memories of Van, that it’s hard to pick a favorite. The most important one is of him being totally accepting of our mother coming to live with them, even though he and Judy were newlyweds at the time. He talked to her, teased her, and made her feel at home. She loved him.
Van had a wonderful and quirky sense of humor, and could always make you laugh. One of my favorite things is that he always addressed me as “dingbat” and I always addressed him as “you old goat”. We knew everything was OK between us when we shared those words. I will miss him more than words can express.
