Earl Lynn Bonner's Obituary
Earl Lynn Bonner, age 55, a resident of Longton, Kansas passed away in a hayfield on Monday, August 4, 2008 in the Buxton, Kansas area. Earl was born on March 31, 1953 in Neodesha, Kansas the youngest son of Carl and Christine (Kilgore) Bonner of Buxton, Kansas.
Earl attended Greenridge Elementary School (one of the last one room schools in the area) until it was closed. He graduated from Fredonia High School in 1970 and proudly served in the United States Navy for seven years.
On July 21, 2000, Earl began a life with the love of his life, Sharon E. Nicholson, and they became companions in Elk County. He was a fabricator. Earl was a member of the American Legion and the Buxton Church. Earl enjoyed taking walkabouts, looking for arrowheads, being outdoors, spending time at the pond, and chasing Loozer, Foxy and PePe’.
Earl is survived by his companion, Sharon Nicholson of the home and two daughters: Jill Pickell of Longton, Kansas and Joy Suits and her husband Dale “Bub†Suits of Bristow, Oklahoma, two granddaughters, six great grandkids, his mother Christine Bonner of Buxton, Kansas, one sister Vada Joy of Fredonia, Kansas, one brother Lewis “Sonny†Bonner of Buxton, Kansas, four nieces and nephews and twelve great nieces and nephews and numerous friends. His father, Carl Bonner, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 8, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, with Pastor Gene Benefiel officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 7, 2008 from 6 – 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends, at the funeral home.
