Earl R. Stalnaker's Obituary
Earl R. Stalnaker of Fredonia, age 77, died Friday, October 30, 2009 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Earl was born August 25, 1932 to Vancil T. and Mary Kathrine (Reyman) Stalnaker in Chappell, Nebraska.
Earl was a graduate of the University of Nebraska. On April 11, 1954 in Dunbar, Nebraska Earl married Mona M. Clark, she survives at their home. Earl and Mona were married for 55 years. In March of 1955 Earl went into the United States Airforce, he served as a SSGT until February of 1959.
Earl returned to Chappell, Nebraska where he farmed for the next 30 years. Earl was a member of the Nebraska Stock Growers Association, Elks Club, Lutheran Brotherhood, Rotary, and a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge. He served as a county Commissioner for Cheyenne County, in Nebraska, and he was a member of the Methodist Church in Chappell.
In his free time, Earl collected coins. He was an avid “Story Tellerâ€, telling jokes and just enjoyed talking with family and friends.

Penny and Jack Dye of Hermosa, South Dakota
Jill and Dennis Comer of Phillips, Nebraska
Six Grandchildren: Russell and Ashlee Brown, Josh and Gemma Pretzer, Amber and Shaunie Comer.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Lee Roy Stalnaker.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 2, 2009 at 10:00 am at Countryside Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Benefiel officiating. Masonic Rites will be given at the service by Constellation Lodge #95. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service time. After the service, the family has chosen cremation with burial of the cremains to be at Chappell, Nebraska with their local Masonic Lodge. Burial services will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Fredonia Masonic Lodge or the charity of donor’s choice, and may be sent to the funeral home.
