Dorothy and the Jay family, sadly, I am unable to attend the service tomorrow but I will be there in spirit. You all have my heart felt condolence. Eddie was a man of integrity and great love, especially for his family and friends. I am honoured to be included as one of his best friends. Our friendship started way back in the second grade and grew until I can truthfully say he was my best friend, truly a brother, an inspiration, a blessing and more.
Stories - Oh my lands, what can I say?!!!! I confess that I just loved it when Eddie started reminiscing. He was another "Jerry Clower" when it came to telling his stories. Dorothy and the grandsons most likely got tired of hearing some of them and it wouldn't surprise me if Clayton and Joshua thought Grandpa was exaggerating, sometimes. But I assure you they were the absolute truth. And I know for a fact that there were times when Grandma Dorothy said that Eddie shouldn't be telling some of those stories in front of those boys!
The Lord willing, I'll be down your way to get reacquainted with all the family plus hopefully meeting Sue for the first time. Because you were very dear to Eddie, you are dear to me, too. So, dear ones, until we meet again, hold on to those memories (the good ones). They are priceless treasures, indeed!
