Eldon L Munday's Obituary
Eldon L. Munday, age 83, a resident of the Howard Twilight Manor passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011. He was born on April 14, 1928 in Cedar Vale, Kansas the son of Dewey and Rilla Ann (Newton) Munday.
On December 31, 1949 Eldon was united in marriage to Bonnie Wolfe, at Sedan, Kansas, they later divorced. On June 7, 1965, he married Mae Beatrice “Bea†Wells at Wellington, Kansas. They operated a restaurant in Dexter and ran a hog farm until moving to McPherson where Eldon owned the Mobil Oil bulk business. Eldon attended the Grenola Christian Church and then later the Moline Christian Church.
Eldon is survived by his son Tom Munday of Havana, Kansas; his daughters, Nancy Lawhorn of Copan, Oklahoma and Carol Artherton of Havana, Kansas; step-son, Leon Wells of Grenola, Kansas; sisters, Elrena Munday of Dexter, Kansas and Erma Stone of Arkansas City, Kansas, his dearest friend Louise Cookson of Howard, Kansas and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bea, son Richard, brother E.W. (Dub), sister Ellen and step-daughter Judy Wolfe.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Grenola, Kansas. There is no visitation. Family suggests contributions be made to the Twilight Manor Nursing Home, in Howard, Kansas, and may be left with the funeral home.
