Elizabeth J. Beal's Obituary
Elizabeth J. Beal, age 92, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas passed away Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Fredonia Regional Hospital. She was born on October 5, 1918 in Rich Hill, Missouri the daughter of John W. and Elizabeth L. (Linn) Jamison.
In 1936 Elizabeth entered into nurses training at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, Kansas. Then known as Sister Theophane, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education from St. Mary’s College in Leavenworth, Kansas. She worked as a R.N. for 42 years. In September 1982, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Dr. Raymond J. Beal and he preceded her in death in 1994. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fredonia. Elizabeth was an animal lover, especially dogs and Kansas City Chiefs fan.
She is survived by her adopted step- son Robert J. Beal and his wife Tai of Austin, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fredonia, Kansas. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM Thursday at the church. Visitation will be at 7:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fredonia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made the Kansas Humane Society and may be sent to the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.
