Ellen Louise Scribner's Obituary
Ellen Louise Scribner, age 78, a resident of Howard, Kansas passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado, Kansas. She was born on November 24, 1935 in Great Bend, Kansas the daughter of Otis Allen and Georgia Lucille (Runnells) Farquer.
On February 18, 1955, Ellen was united in marriage to Don Scribner in El Dorado, Kansas. Don and Ellen moved to California and there she worked in a nursing home in social services. She was a very active member in the Foursquare Church where she was also an ordained minister. Ellen enjoyed reading, bowling, fishing and watching football. She was an animal lover but most of all she loved her family and they loved her back.
Ellen is survived by her husband Don Scribner of Howard, Kansas, one sister Nancy Bearden of Howard, Kansas and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Per Ellen’s request cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time. Memorials are suggested to the Kansas Humane Society in Wichita and may be left with the funeral home.
