Elpha "Jill" Lucille Hall's Obituary
Elpha “Jill” Lucille Cutler Runer-Hall, 83, passed away on January 2, 2018 surrounded by her loving children. She was born on June 5, 1934 in Buffalo, KS to Jake James and Virginia Estella (Rice) Cutler. Jill attended school in and graduated from Buffalo, KS.
Jill married Marvin Leo Runer August 27, 1950 and he preceded her in death on October 20, 1953. She married Roland Dean Hall on December 1, 1957. He also preceded her in death on May 7, 1991.
Jill was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was always there for her family when needed and very understanding. She worked at Safeways in Hurst, Euless, and Grapevine, TX for 19 years before retiring from Sack-N-Save in Bedford, TX in 1998. Customers were very fond of her and often waited in her line, even when other lines were quicker, just to have her visit with them while checking out their groceries. She was often recognized by her customers outside of work, where they would stop her to visit.
In her spare time, Jill was a very talented piano player who could play nearly any song by ear, enjoyed working outdoors, climbing trees and roofs, and baking and cooking. She was especially known for her cinnamon rolls, pies, chicken fried steak, and chicken fried chicken. Jill was a founding member of the Bedford Christian Church in Bedford, TX and brought all six of her children up with her same commitment to faith. She would often remind them when troubles came their way to have faith and pray for guidance. After retiring, she enjoyed being a member of Red Hat Mid-Cities Crimson Toppers and sharing fellowship with the Milestone Church Small Group.
