Emma Juanita "Nita" Bain's Obituary
Emma Juanita Muninger Bain, age 96, formerly of Chanute, KS, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in Rogers, AR. She was born June 13, 1918 in Iola, KS. the daughter of Edwin Otho and Mabel Charlotte (Weiland) Muninger.
On September 21, 1935 she married Charlie Bain. Nita was a housewife and worked with her husband in Bain Bakery and with his carpentry enterprises in Chanute, KS. She was known to be a good cook. Charlie often said, “that a rich man didn’t eat better than he did.” She was especially fond of socializing with her sisters, brothers, and many relatives.
Nita was preceded in death by her; husband, Charlie; parents, Edwin and Mabel; sisters, Clara, Beulah, Doris, Mary, Ruby, Wilma, and brothers, Charles, Kenneth, Chester, Harold, James, and Richard.
She is survived by her son; Charles and wife Carolyn, brother; Benny of Buffalo, KS, granddaughter; Christina and husband Scott Smathers, great-grandson; J. T. Smathers and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, KS.
Family suggests memorials to Castaways Animal Shelter. Countryside Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
