Ernestine Allene Richards' Obituary
E. Allene Richards of Fredonia, died Tuesday April 7, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Neodesha. Allene was born in Le Loup, Kansas one of six children to Harry H. and Mary L. (McCauley) Riley.
On November 12, 1946 in Ottawa, Kansas Allene married Rex Morgan Richards. Allene and Rex were married for 41 years until his death of September 19, 1988.
Allene worked as a homemaker; she enjoyed taking care of her family and raising her children. She was a member of the Calvary Wesleyan Church of Fredonia and a strong believer of her faith.
Ernestine is survived by:
One Daughter: Sharon L. Fuqua of El Centro, California
One Brother-in-Law: Harold Richards of Rantoul, Kansas
2 Grandchildren and 3 Step Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, and special friend Don Braden of Fredonia.
Allene was preceded in death by her husband and son Jim Richards
Funeral Services will be held Friday April 10, 2009 at the New Albany Methodist Church at 1:30 PM, with Pastor Susan Galvan officiating. Burial will follow at Weakley Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s charity of choice and may be left at the time of service or sent to the funeral home.
