Esther Alma Jordan's Obituary
Esther Alma Jordan, 92 of Howard, died March 30, 2009 at Twilight Manor in Howard. Esther was born March 15, 1917 near Wilmore, Kansas the daughter of Everett and Maude (Heck) Hubbard.
Esther joined the Wilmore Methodist Church at the age of 12. She graduated from Wilmore High School in 1935, she then attended Southwestern College for two years getting her teaching degree. She taught six years in Comanche County.
On May 29, 1941 Esther married Glenn W. Jordan, they ranched and farmed south of Coldwater for 28 years, where she also taught Sunday School at the Antioch Methodist Church for most of those years. On November 28, 1955 they adopted a 6 year old son, Leroy G. Jordan. August of 1972, they bought land in Elk County and moved near Piedmont. Esther and Glenn were married for 44 years until his death of January 10, 1986.
Esther was a member of the Eastern Star since March of 1946.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, 2 brothers Earl and Ronald Hubbard, 1Sister in Law, Ruth Denney and an infant son.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 3, 2009 at 10:30 am at the Howard United Methodist in Howard, KS, with Pastor Charles Cryderman officiating, burial to follow at Grace Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday April 2 from 1 to 7 pm at Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Howard United Methodist Church or Twilight Manor of Howard, and may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
