Esther Elizabeth Spencer's Obituary
Esther Elizabeth Spencer, age 75, a resident of Fredonia Kansas, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. She was born July 2, 1933 in Redding California to Hartley and Genevieve (Smith) Weingartner.
She was united in Marriage to Donald Lee Spencer on September 3, 1951 in Carson City, Nevada. They were married for 45 years, until his death of June 12, 1997.
Esther was a nurse for over 30 years. She was very active with the Grace Baptist Church in Neodesha Kansas, and loved doing work with the church. She was the treasurer for the Ladies Missionary, and was also very involved with Meals on Wheels and various senior citizens organizations. She donated many books to the church, and also enjoyed reading, crocheting, making jewelry, making cards, fishing and traveling as well as writing books and poetry.

Susie Gulick; Santa Ana, California
Three Brothers:
Byron Wing; Sandy, Oregon
Paul Weingartner; Washington
Bob Orr; Redding, California
12 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren
Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Hartley and Genevieve, husband Donald, 3 sisters, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 1, 2008 at Countryside Funeral Home from 2 P.M. – 7 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 5-7 P.M. Services will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Countryside Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Spencer, Pastor Jeremiah Beard, and Pastor Jim Logan officiating. Burial will be at Carlisle Cemetery near Toronto Kansas. The family suggests memorials to the Grace Baptist Church or the Histiocytosis Association of America and may be left with the funeral home at the time of service.
