Ethel Irene Helms' Obituary
Ethel Irene Helms of Howard, KS passed away in the comfort of her home on Saturday October 28th, 2017 at the age of 76.
Ethel was born to parents George and Bernice Bell on February 11, 1941. She grew up as the fourth of five children and attended Moline High School.
After high school Ethel graduated from the Kansas School of Cosmetology and began her career as a beautician owning her own shop in Eureka, KS. She was married to Jimmie Lee Helms and raised 3 boys in Howard, KS. She continued to work as a beautician in Moline, KS and Howard, KS for many years.
Ethel is survived by her three sons James and wife Cheryl, Tracy and wife Sherrelle, and George David, her sister, Edna Armstrong; brothers John and Dude Bell, and seven grandchildren Sheila, Dustin, JD, Hayley, Logan, Brickelle and Kastiny. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Lee; her parents, George and Bernice Bell; her sister Georgie Wilson.
In honor of Ethel’s wishes there will be a private graveside service. The family is grateful for the condolences. A donation fund has been set up with St. Jude’s Cancer Hospital in lieu of flowers since children always brought a smile to Ethel.
