Ethel Louise "Helen" VanBuskirk's Obituary
Ethel Louise “Helen†VanBuskirk, age 94, a resident of Severy, Kansas passed away at her home on Sunday, December 26, 2010. She was born on November 11, 1916 in the Twin Grove Township in Greenwood County, Kansas the daughter of William Walter and Rosa Lee (Frost) Sexton.
On April 20, 1938 Helen was united in marriage to Leonard VanBuskirk in Howard, Kansas. She worked as a cook for many years in the restaurant business. Helen was an active member of the Severy Baptist Church helping with Vacation Bible School and helping prepare meals for church dinners. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and babysitting.
Helen is survived by one son Bill VanBuskirk, two daughters Bonnie Bills and Donna Wiss, one sister Joy Knight all of Severy, Kansas, twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard, three brothers, five sisters and one son.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Severy Baptist Church in Severy with Pastor Tony Pameticky officiating. Viewing will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.
