Ethel Phillips' Obituary
Ethel Phillips, age 87 a resident of Fredonia, died Saturday October 31, 2009 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Ethel was born February 7, 1922 in Fredonia, the daughter of Edgar and Gertrude (Puckett) Willhite.
Ethel attended the Fredonia School System. In her younger years, Ethel was a waitress, and that is where she met Fred Phillips. After their marriage, Ethel and Fred moved to the Kansas City area. Ethel and Fred returned to Fredonia after his retirement. Ethel was a housewife and took care of Fred until his death in 1997.
Ethel is survived by a niece and a nephew
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, brothers Alfred and Willis Willhite, and one sister Vesta Berckefeldt.
At Ethel's request, private family services were held at the Fredonia City Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to "Meals on Wheels" and may be sent to the funeral home.
