Etta L. Baugh, also known as “Grannyâ€, age 97 of Chanute, Kansas died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Neosho Memorial Hospital in Chanute, Kansas. Etta was born on November 19, 1912 to Frank Albert and Anna Edna (Murdock) Burger in Walnut, Kansas
On March 15, 1931 in Neosho, MO. Etta married Oren Alvin “Skinny†Baugh. They were married for 51 years until his death of October 4, 1982.
Etta was the past matron of the Eastern Star of Walnut, Kansas. She was a member of the Westview Southern Baptist Church. She served several years as PTA President, a leader for many years with 4-H, and a member of a quilting club. Later in life Etta started painting with oil and water based paints. She also enjoyed drawing.

Etta was preceded in death by her husband Oren, one son Oren Alvin Baugh Jr., sister: Maxine Poindexter, Granddaughters: Sharon Romero and Carla Dark, Grandsons: Kevin Coester and Michael Baugh, and one great granddaughter Alyssa Dawn Allen
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Westview Southern Baptist Church in Chanute, Kansas with visitation being held from noon until 1:30 at the church. Burial to follow, at the Walnut, Kansas Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Westview Southern Baptist Church and may be left with the funeral home.
