Eva Jean (Riley) Rule Bicknell's Obituary
Eva Jean (Riley) Rule Bicknell, age 93, of Chanute, KS, entered into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at NMRMC in Chanute. Jean was born on August 8, 1924 in rural Humboldt, KS the daughter of Leonard R. and Sally A (Bodin) Riley.
Jean graduated from Humboldt High School in 1942. She married Arthur I. Rule in 1944 and had 3 children together before he passed away in 1953. In 1957, Jean married Marvin W. Bicknell and they had 2 children together before he preceded her in death in 2013.
Jean worked for Kustom Electronics and after retirement enjoyed being a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing and crafting miniature figures. She loved spending time knitting for her family and for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Jean enjoyed serving her family from making lunch every Thursday for them to making homemade bread for her grandkids for Christmas. Her family was her world. She was an active in Compassionate Friends, AL-ANON and TOPS and a volunteer for hospice. Jean was a member of Gold Star Families and Zion Lutheran Church in Chanute.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tom Bicknell and 1 brother and 4 sisters.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 9-10 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Chanute, KS. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 10 am at Zion Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials have been suggested to Zion Lutheran Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
