Eve L. Reynolds' Obituary
Eve Louise Reynolds, 55, of Fredonia, KS., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Eve was born on November 1, 1969, in Worthington, Ohio, the daughter of Max E. and Brenda (Gehman) Dawson. Often, people assumed Max and Brenda were Eve’s biological parents. Still, when asked, she would be happy to tell you that Max and Brenda had adopted her at 6 days old. She never questioned or attempted to locate her biological parents, knowing always that Max and Brenda were her God given parents.
After living in Ohio for the first 10 years of her life, Eve moved with her parents to several towns in central Missouri. Their last move was during the middle of her freshman year of high school to Fredonia, KS. Eve was a graduate of Fredonia High School, class of 1988. During high school, she worked at both nursing homes in Neodesha. After high school, Eve began working at Fredonia Regional Hospital as an ER/OR Tech and later volunteered for EMS for over 15 years. While working at FRH, she met Warren Payne Reynolds, and the two were married on October 4, 1997. From that marriage, the couple had a baby boy, Dylan Wade, on January 14, 2004. They later divorced in 2011. During her 37-year career at FRH, Eve worked in one of the most active departments at the hospital, the Specialty Outpatient Clinic. If there was a specialist in town you needed to be seen by, more than likely, Eve scheduled the appointment, checked you in, and charted your case, all done with the biggest smile she could force while running a marathon. If not found in the ER, OR, and Specialty Clinic, one could discover Eve by waiting for the crazy lady to run past you in the halls. She enjoyed being able to scrub in and be a part of as many Surgical Operating Shenanigans as possible every week.
Eve was a woman deeply rooted in her faith, possessing quiet strength and an open, non-judgmental ear to listen. She loved planting flowers, succulents, and vines every year. Although not widely known, Eve was passionate about watching every Kansas City Chiefs game as possible, fueled by her Dad’s same enjoyment of the game. She never turned away a person in need, whether it was due to care and health, financial need, or emotional support; she was always there. When talking to her, one could feel as if the world had stopped; she never once let the reality of the real world dictate the attitude she had for others. If she saw you, she was happy to see you. She is known for many of her traits as a good human being that cannot be categorized, summarized, or listed in a way that best defines her. Eve’s life has been shaped by her compassion for loving every single person she met, her steady presence, and the care she extended to not only her patients, loved ones, and animals, but especially her cats. Most importantly, Eve dedicated her life to caring for and loving her one and only son, Dylan.
