Evelyn Louise Johnson's Obituary
Evelyn Louise Johnson, age 83 of Chanute, KS, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Heritage Healthcare in Chanute. She was born on August 23, 1935 in Chanute, KS, the daughter of Fred and Hazel (Ingle) Johnson. At an early age her family moved to Arizona and California and then moved back to Chanute in 1949. Evelyn attended school in Chanute and Vilas and graduated from Vilas High School in 1954.
Evelyn worked many different jobs: live in housekeeper for the late Larry Hudson, at Ralph Ellis Dodge, at ILC and at Wagon Wheel Real Estate. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed crocheting. Evelyn was an avid NASCAR fan and her favorite driver was Tony Stewart “Smoke”. Evelyn was a member of the Colfax Baptist Church.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Larry Johnson and Duane Johnson.
Cremation has been requested. The family will be holding a memorial service at a later date. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. The family suggests memorials to be made to Victory Junction (a camp that helps children with disabilities that was started by race car drivers) and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
