Evelyn Clara Rindt's Obituary
Evelyn Clara Rindt, of Fredonia, age 101 died Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Herington Hospital.
Evelyn was born to William and Sophia (Brockmeier) Czarnowsky on August 23, 1911 in Latimer, Kansas where her father had a grain elevator and general store that provided postal services. Her family later moved to Herington where Evelyn graduated from Herington High School and was the valedictorian of her Class. Both Evelyn and her future husband, Dr. E.A. Rindt, were in the same high school graduation class.
Evelyn attended Kansas State Teacher’s College in Emporia and received her Life Certificate in Elementary Education. She taught school in a one room school house in northwest Kansas for a few years before returning to Herington and teaching five more years.
On August 4, 1940 Evelyn was united in marriage to Dr. E.A. Rindt at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Herington. Immediately after marrying, she and Dr. Rindt moved to Fredonia where she has lived ever since. And where she and her husband raised their two children, Phil and Bev.
After moving to Fredonia, she helped Dr. Rindt in his office, later she devoted her talents to raising her children and being very active in the community. Evelyn served as a Scout leader and a volunteer for the Fredonia Schools. Evelyn was a lifetime member of the 1910 Club holding many different offices, and she was also active in the First Presbyterian Church of Fredonia and was a circle member there for many years.
Evelyn loved to cook and bake and was a very talented seamstress and craft person making many beautiful objects for her family and friends. Evelyn also loved to travel visiting much of the United States plus Europe, Asia, Russia, Mexico and more. She was a gracious hostess and lady who enjoyed serving other people. She was dedicated to her family and loved having them meet at her house for many good times. She was thrilled when the grandchildren came along and spent many hours taking care of them and being a part of their activities. Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister and will be dearly missed.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dr. E.A. Rindt, her parents, two brothers William Jr. and Victor Czarnowsky and one sister Laura Schumacher.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2013 10:30 A.M. at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia with Mike Jeffers officiating, with burial to follow at Fredonia City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 6, 2013 with the family receiving friends from 5:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Memorials have been suggested to the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia or Fredonia Regional Hospital, and may be left with the funeral home.
