Evelyn M. Warhurst's Obituary
Evelyn M. Warhurst, 77, of Chanute, passed away Friday, December 27, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Evelyn was born in Lyons, Kansas, on March 9, 1936, the daughter of Orla and Flora (Haas) Peterson. She graduated from Chase High School in 1954 and attended Business College in Hutchinson, Kansas.
She was united in marriage to Louis “Jack” Warhurst on September 30, 1956 in Lyons, Kansas. He survives of the home.
Evelyn worked at Barton Salt in Hutchinson and then as a Composing Room Supervisor for the Chanute Tribune until her retirement and as a Home Health CNA.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Along with her husband Louis “Jack”, she is survived by two daughters, Cindy M. Miller of Chanute and Rhonda O’Brien and her husband Jimmy of Iola; two sons, Ronald Warhurst of Appleton, WI and David Warhurst and his wife Patty of Chanute; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; Six great-grandchildren and three great-step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, and a brother.
Services will be scheduled at a later date.
