Everett Leslie Wrestler Jr.'s Obituary
Everett Leslie Wrestler, Jr. age 92, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Guest Home Estates. Everett was born on April 21, 1923 to Everett Wrestler Sr. and Myrtle Ruth (Osborn) Wrestler in Humboldt, KS.
On August 31, 1943 Everett married Helen Liane in Iola, KS. Everett served in World War II where he earned the Purple Heart, the Silver Star and the Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award. After the war, he went to work at the Monarch Cement Company for 38 years before retiring. Everett was a member of the VFW, 3rd Degree Mason, the American Legion, and the Disabled Veterans. He loved sports, working in the yard and spending time with his grandkids.
Everett was preceded in death by his wife Liane, his parents; a brother, Lloyd Wrestler, and two sisters; Viola and Nadine Wrestler.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Kay Kannarr and husband Fearoll. Grandsons: Sean Kannarr and wife Kim of Coweta, OK, Shane and wife Amy Kannarr of Pittsburg, KS. Great grandchildren: Kayleigh, Benjamin, Payton, Brody, and Sydney Kannarr.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be a memorial service Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 10:30a.m. at the First Christian Church in Humboldt, KS. Inurnment will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, KS. Memorials can be made to First Christian Church in Humboldt, KS or Castaway Animal Shelter and may be mailed to or left with Funeral home, Countryside Funeral Home 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
